We will be glad to borrow books and articles not owned by Carnegie Mellon Libraries through the following free services:
ILLiad: Users can request books, microforms, theses, some dissertations, and copies of articles from journals, newspapers and other publications. You will need to register to become an ILLiad User, and then you can use ILLiad to request items, track requests, and renew your loans. Electronic copies will arrive in your email, or you can pick up print copies at the circulation desk that you indicated. See our video for help placing an ILLiad request.
E-Z Borrow/PALCI: This is only for books - you can request them by title in the system. Login to E-Z Borrow using your 9-digit Carnegie Mellon ID#. You'll be notified when your book arrives and you can then pick it up at the circulation desk that you indicated.
University of Pittsburgh: CMU staff, faculty, and students can borrow materials and use databases at Pitt. You'll need to bring your CMU ID card to the circulation desk at Hillman Library to get a special borrower's card, or a password to use their computers. To search for books or articles at Pitt, use PittCat+. (Some of their special libraries are not available.)
Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh: CLP library cards are free; you just need to go to one of the branches and present some proof of residency in Allegheny County. They have many books and other resources on management and career development, especially in their Job & Career Education Center and Business department. To search for items in their system, use the Catalog Search on the CLP homepage: they provide a free delivery service to the branch nearest you.
