Purpose: The Libraries Student Advisory Council (LSAC) was formed to gather input from Carnegie Mellon University students on all aspects of the Libraries and its divisions, as well as create an effective channel of communication between student peers, Libraries faculty or staff, and the Dean of our Libraries.  Student membership on the council serves to facilitate representation of Carnegie Mellon Students at large.

Council Structure: The LSAC will be co-chaired by a library faculty or staff member and a student council member.  This member will be nominated by peer student members each year using this form.

Student council members will serve for one academic year.  In addition, three standing seats will be reserved: one for a member of the Graduate Student Assembly, another for a member of the Undergraduate Student Senate, and one for a library student employee.  An LSAC faculty or staff member will serve as Secretary of the council and will assume the responsibility for taking minutes and documenting the Council's activities.

Contact: To contact the Student Advisory Committee with questions about library services, membership, or meetings, please e-mail lib-lsac@lists.andrew.cmu.edu
