Current students, faculty, and staff are permitted to borrow and access materials at CMU libraries given they have a valid CMU ID card and login information. University of Pittsburgh students can also borrow materials. All others must purchase a Special Borrower card from the Hunt circulation desk in order to check out materials. Non-CMU, in-person access to library owned computers and databases requires a computer guest pass. More information on Borrowing and Requesting can be found on the CMU Libraries website.

Access Services is responsible for maintaining the accounts for all user groups. This includes tracking loans, updating user information, processing fines, proxy borrowing, and issuing guest registration and special borrowers cards.
