The theme of this year’s Love Data Week is “Whose Data Is It, Anyway?” Think about who collects, owns, and uses the data you need (and you generate) for your research. Carnegie Mellon University Libraries is excited to help all students, faculty, and staff who are engaging with different kinds of data to understand, use, communicate, and code with it.
The following workshops will offer hands-on experience in working with and manipulating data. If you attend any individual workshop, you are eligible to receive a badge to certify your attendance at that workshop! If you attend 3+ workshops during love data week, you are eligible for the certificate.

This project is a collaboration between the University Libraries and the Tartan Research Data Alliance, and was built with love for the Love Data Week 2025 and the CMU community.
This visualization was created using state-of-the-art natural language processing techniques that transform thesis abstracts into a semantic map. Think of it as a GPS system for research topics that captures the semantic meaning of the research instead of just keywords, allowing us to see the conceptual relationships between theses.
