Alma

  • Resource Management
    • The Alma Viewer now displays Office files including those from Word, Excel & PowerPoint. 
    • Electronic holdings for Taylor and Francis journals can now be updated automatically.
    • All Title and Portfolio search results will now include link resolver statistics showing how often an electronic portfolio was displayed or clicked.
    • Jobs that make changes to physical inventory previously were compatible with Physical Titles or Physical Items sets. These jobs can now be applied to Physical Holdings sets as well. 
    • A new option was added to the Change Physical Items job, to allow text to be appended to a note.
    • Community Zone collections will show a Bibliographic Rank field to indicate the average quality of the records in that collection. 
    • Item Retention functionality has been added to the New Order and Update Inventory import profiles. This allows the "Committed to Retain" item option to be enabled automatically. 
    • MMS ID can now be used to create itemized sets of Physical Titles, Digital Titles or Electronic Titles, in addition to All Titles. 
    • In the search results for physical items, a menu option was added for marking items missing. 
  • Acquisitions 
    • On November 9, 2023, Ebook Central will end support for COUNTER release 4 and will begin to use COUNTER release 5. 
    • In the New Order import profile, it is possible to create a PO Line for each item within a single bibliographic record. The new "Split PO Lines by Library Location" option can be used for this purpose. 
    • Alma has a new interface for the PO Line task list, which shows more information along with new search and facet options.
    • The "Update PO Lines Information" job now can make changes to the 4th and 5th reporting codes.

Primo VE 

  • The Alma Community Zone now offers an Unpaywall collection to improve CDI results.
  • Resource Recommender supports more queries that are not exact matches.  
  • It is now possible to create local keys for use with FRBR and Dedup. 
  • In Primo Analytics, the usage of HTML and PDF Quicklinks can be displayed from the Customized Values Usage subject area
