There may be a delay in response time from the RADs team due to year end responsibilities and workload.

Weeding Updates for May

  • The temporary employees have pulled the OVRSZQ-4 books that were earmarked for “OFFSITE”, 3540 items.

Approximately 201 boxes (3383 books) were transferred to Offsite on 5/5 (Monday). Temps will go to Offsite Storage to unpack and shelve the boxes on Monday (5/19) and Tuesday (5/20).

  • At the end of April, the temps began pulling the OVRSZQ-4 books that are earmarked for “DISCARD”, 7199 items. By the end of May, these items will be pulled, reviewed, packed, and shipped to Better World Books (BWB) for resale.

  • The temps, Joshua DeLia and Andy Perlman, will finish their assignments on May 23, 2025 (Friday). Both have accepted a position (Facilities Assistant) with the University Libraries; their full-time jobs will start on Tuesday, May 27. During the summer, student employees and staff members will continue working on the weeding and shifting projects taking place on HL4, HL2, and at Sorrells. If anyone is interested in helping with the collection projects (weeding and shifting), please email Gloria Henning.
